Automatic Weather Alert System Based on the Civil Protection Radar

Radarmetalert is an automatic weather alert app that is based on the radar images provided by the Civil Protection. Radarmetalert will identify you on the map and, once the notification system has been activated, every 10 minutes will analyze the meteorological situation in the surroundings and notify you of any strong showers nearby. If the intense storm cell is more than 15km away, the notification will be silent while if it is closer to your position, it will also send a sound notification.

Radarmetalert notifies only particularly strong or extreme thunderstorms.

Once the notifications have been activated, you can put the app in the background and let the active service in the background take care of periodically checking the weather situation. If a storm cell nearby is identified, a notification will be sent with the distance between you and the storm; You can subsequently view the radar image by reopening the app to check the precise position.

The calculations of this app are based on the radar images of the Civil Protection which are updated on average every 10 minutes.

The app also has a news section where you can view the Synoptic paper of Europe and the latest weather bulletin published by the Aereonautics, as well as the Meteomont and avalanche bulletin, the Ingv earthquake list calculated on your GPS position and much more.

It is also possible to send your GPS position quickly via SMS or using the copy paste in the social network you most used.
