Motorized Vehicle Number (TNKB), or often called a number plate or police number (nopol), is an aluminum plate a motor vehicle sign in Indonesia that has been registered at the office with Samsat.

Number plate is one type of motor vehicle identification for cars and motorcycles. The number plate is also called a vehicle registration plate, or in the United States is known as a license plate. The shape is a piece of metal or plastic plate mounted on a motorized vehicle as an official identification. Usually the number plate is a pair of pairs, to be installed in front and back of the vehicle. But there are certain jurisdictions or certain types of vehicles that only require one number plate, usually to be installed in the back. The number plate has a serial number that is the arrangement of letters and numbers specifically for the vehicle. This number in Indonesia is called a police number, and is usually combined with other information about the vehicle concerned, such as color, brand, model, year of manufacture, vehicle identification number or vin and of course the name and address of the owner. All of these data are also stated in the motor vehicle number or STNK which is a proof that the police number is indeed determined for the vehicle.

Because of its specific form, number plate is also used as a vehicle identification by many institutions, such as the police, car insurance companies, workshops, parking lots, and also the fleet of motorized vehicles. In some areas of jurisdiction, license plates are also used as proof that the vehicle already has a 'permit' to operate on the public highway, or also as proof of motor vehicle tax payment.
